Better questions make better ERP projects.
Practical starting points for planning an implementation, evaluating a customization or preparing a system review.
Preparing an ERP project brief
Describe the workflow before listing the software features. Record what triggers the work, who owns each step, which data moves between teams and how exceptions are handled.
Then identify the outcome you need to improve. Include the applications already in use, the people who can validate the process and the constraints that affect rollout.
Explore implementation planningDeciding when to customize
Compare the requirement with the standard application workflow first. Identify the operational cost of the gap and whether a process change would resolve it.
For a justified extension, define acceptance criteria, security needs and maintenance ownership. Include the effect on integrations, reporting and future upgrades in the decision.
Explore customizationPreparing for migration discovery
Start with an inventory of the source version, edition, custom modules, third-party apps, integrations and data volumes. Identify the reports and balances that business owners will use to validate the result.
Agree how much history needs to move and which records can be archived. Use a rehearsal to learn about compatibility, validation effort and the likely cutover window.
